Model 1010 Portable Data Recorder

Widely popular for addressing “clear on arrival” problems. Many railroad-focused features. 16 digital and 2 analog inputs can be individually named. Inputs are non-polar and are opto-coupler isolated. All commons are isolated. All inputs will survive 120VAC contact. Analog inputs will simultaneously record AC and DC voltage levels. Memory capacity controlled by the size of the SD Card used. Live status of all inputs visible on the 1010 display. Easy to “read” printout of data-letter “X” represents voltage present (True); underscore “_” character represents absence of voltage (False). Sampling rate – Event-driven, all inputs are recorded when any input changes state. Records one event per second and indicates an “M” if more than one event occurs in a second. Responds to events over 50ms in length. Instantaneous download by simply removing the SD Card data storage medium and downloading it to laptop spreadsheet. Capable of emulating pen graph recorder with Record Interval function. Temperature recorded each time record function is activated. Inputs will accommodate AWG No. 10 to AWG No. 20 wire. 1010-7 Portable Data Recorder

S&C DISTRIBUTION COMPANY, in response to a customer request, has substantially lowered the sensitivity of four (another four can be converted) Digital Inputs of a special configuration of the 1010 Recorder. The Part Number of the Recorder with the lowered-sensitivity inputs is 1010-7. Lowering allows the direct application of DC or AC track circuit voltages to perform the same function as do the floating outputs of various electronic interlocking or crossing warning systems. Bridging these various voltage sources enables the 1010 Portable Data Recorder to record the true/false or up/down activity of these circuits without having to jerry-rig a contact closure to observe or record the status of the circuits. The data is then available for review for trouble-shooting or maintenance analysis. Already known in the marketplace as the “Clear On Arrival Recorder”, this new capability further enhances the functionality of the 1010 as a field-worthy, truly portable, data recorder.

Details are as follows:

  1. Input response has been lowered from 3 VDC and 3 VAC to:1) 1.9VDC
    2) 1.5VAC
  2. Bridging loss: 2 – 3 mA.
  3. Four Inputs modified are: No. 16, 15, 14, 13. Sensitivity of the remaining twelve digital Inputs is 3 VAC or 3 VDC. Two Analog Inputs remain 0 to 150 VAC, 0 to 75 VDC.
  4. Maximum Digital Input voltage is 48 VAC or VDC
  5. Modified Inputs are now polarized. Attention to polarity will be required. All other inputs remain non-polarized.
  6. Labeling associated with Low Volts Digital Inputs uses colored rectangles to indicate polarity (Red – Positive, Black – Negative – see photo)
  7. Recorder will react to track circuit voltages, bridge-connected to Recorder Inputs, as if they are the floating outputs of VHLC/ElectrologIXS, etc. devices. When voltage is present an “X” will be recorded. When voltage is not present a “_” will be recorded.
  8. Recorders can be ordered with Input voltages lowered, in groups of four, up to a total of eight inputs lowered. The first four modified will be No. 16, 15, 14, 13; the second four will be No. 8, 7, 6, 5.

(1)  The DDAT-JM Chart will display data from tags contained within the log file.  Any available tag that is selected by the user will be displayed.  This includes Digital Tags, and Analog Tags displayed as either Line Graphs or Plotted Points based on the Data Type.

(2)  The DDAT-JM Tag Grid will show all valid tags contained within the log file. The Tags highlighted in blue are the ones currently selected by the user and displayed on the Chart.  Timestamps for specific tags can also be selected from the Tag Grid, and used to jump to specific events contained within the log file.

(3)  DDAT-JM also provides customizable User Filters which allow the user to search for specific and unique parameter by selecting two of the available Tags and a Logic Operator. For creation of more complex filters, an already-created User Filter can be used as a tag in the creation of a new User Filter.

XDAT Search Results Display Screen

The above illustration shows the XDAT display screen. Alarm Reports are in the righthand column, grouped in Alarm categories. Sixty percent of the display is made up of the tools used to set up the operation of the XDAT.

 

  1. The top portion of the LH column is where the tag names of the recorded data to be analyzed (XR, ISL 1, etc.) are entered. This list is entered each time the data accumulated for a crossing is analyzed.
  2. The bottom portion of the LH column is where the time parameters are entered. Default parameters, based on FRA requirements are installed when you receive XDAT. They can be changed to match railroad standards.

 

Upon loading a Log File, XDAT will automatically search for any alarm conditions within the log. Valid alarms detected will be shown in Yellow. The report will consist of the number of events and a list of Time Stamps at which the Alarms occurred.

Any Alarm Report category that has 0 events detected will display in White, “0 Events”. This allows to user to, at a glance, get an idea of what kind of problems detected exist or do not exist within the log.

Pumping Contacts uses a similar method of display, with the addition of Contact Name (relay, gate mechanism, etc.) to the Timestamp.
