Model 336 Megohmmeter & Arrestor Tester

Cable Megohmmeter specifically designed to meet railroad and rail transit system cable testing requirements.  Unique design allows one person to conduct megger tests using a “touch-and-go” method, substantially reducing cable testing time; no buttons to push, no cranks to turn.  Alarms built-in at the two critical cable values, 500K ohms and 200K ohms.  Two cable testing voltages (600VDC and 250VDC)       available.  600V matches signal cable breakdown specification; 250V for testing cab signal apparatus in the locomotive.  Unit doubles as an arrestor tester that reports the actual firing voltage of the arrestor being tested.  Arrestor test is non-destructive to the arrestor.  Maximum arrestor test firing voltage equivalent to the cable testing voltage.   To use effectively, you have to know the firing voltages of the arrestors you are testing.  Operates on rechargeable, 1.2AH lead-acid battery.  Furnished                 complete with Calibration Check Device for 200K/500K test points, Leads, Universal Charger and zippered, padded case.

335/336 Calibration Check Devices Calibration Check Devices are available to match six specific requirements for conductor insulation resistance testing. These devices enable you to periodically confirm calibration of our Megohmmeter at the values of the Check Device.  Depending on the signal system you are maintaining, more than one Calibration Check Device may be required to address all your needs.
